In recent years, there has been a noticeable rise in the number of unhappy employees due to toxic work environments and management. One of the worst feelings is the sense of being trapped with no way out. Trust your instincts—whether it's your heart, mind, or gut—when they signal that something is wrong. There’s nothing worse than working 8-12 hours a day on a job where you're being bullied or gaslighted by coworkers or management.
Unfortunately, many people worldwide experience this in silence because they feel they can't afford to lose their job. If your position is causing you depression, anxiety, physical sickness, or even PTSD, and you're dreading the thought of clocking in, it might be time to consider a change in your environment.
I understand it’s easier said than done, and for many, the decision comes down to health versus a paycheck. However, organizations like End Workplace Abuse (EWA—End Workplace Act) and the Workplace Psychological Safety Act offer valuable support and advice. It’s time to prioritize yourself—you don’t have to go through this alone. You can seek help anonymously. I've personally used EWA and found their support to be phenomenal, even if you're just looking for advice on handling difficult work situations. Your peace cannot be brought.
