Hello everyone

Hello everyone

I am on a contractual role working as an accountant in IT company.

I am CA by qualification.

Given that my contract is gonna end in November officially. A lot of my job responsibilities are being given to new joinee and there aren't much responsibilities added to my plate.

I did speak to my manager about my job certainty and their answers were not so convincing

I have been applying to a lot of roles but no luck.

I don't know how to go about further.

Did you contract yourself to this client or did you go through a recruiter? Go back to your recruiter, or find a recruiter, and work that angle that way. Also, ask your current manager for a reference in writing. You will need this in the next role. I know it's hard but contracts are just that and are not perm roles. Hopefully you can find a more perm role next time. Go to LinkedIn, look at companies you are interested in working, then link it with people and network. You can no longer apply sit back and wait, as I said to another OP, you must blaze a trail. You must work more angles than reading job postings and apply, you must make connections with people.

This contract role is coming to an end, and it doesn't sound like they're interested in renewing your services. Your manager is avoiding an uncomfortable conversation with you, letting you know that the work will indeed dry up at the end of the contract term. Excellent advice below about getting a written reference if your manager is willing to give one.

Network within the company and formally apply for open positions.
