Manager sits on (doesn’t review) my project funding requests.

These are corporate reports/documents that make their way to the CEO via the C-suite for spending approval.

Time is crucial because of long material lead times so that orders match the spend year. I asked for feedback on one

mid July. It was a long set of back and forth edits. It routed on November13 and was approved December 15.

It has been essentially crickets on another I sent to my manager on November 11. We talked about it in my monthly 1:1, he hasn’t sent anything back.

I do not want to repeatedly ping him on these. More so, I want to stop feeling stressed about the lead times and cash flows, any gross errors I’ve made he could catch, and lack of feedback in general.

Any suggestions for me, FGB? Insights into my manager’s behavior (he is savvy)?

Thank you!

You can't care more than your supervisor. Especially when it's something you have no control over. Maybe ask your boss how often she wants you to check in on outstanding tasks, but other than that, this is out of your control.

Do the requests require your manager's approval before being submitted, or is it a "nice to have," and you want it? If it is a requirement, then ping away. There are only two weeks left in the year with holiday interruptions. If you are unsure you have everything right and want a second set of eyes, try to find someone with similar knowledge of your projects and ask them to look at it. What happens if you don't get approval before submitting it?
