Coworkers are passive aggressive and non social to me and not sure why. I will add that I am introverted, but when I do try to conversate with them it’s almost like it catches them off guard and weirds them out or I catch them on a day where they’re in a bad mood. They say things like oh you’re coming over to ask a question but not talk to us? But yet they never come to my desk and speak to me. Seems one sided to me. I’m also the youngest employee there, and my department is all women. I don’t think I’ll ever work with all women again. I love my job but not having even one friend or acquaintance there makes it so hard to get through the day because I’m treated like an outcast and I don’t even be rude to these women. I’ve also noticed two other young girls in another department left and quit. They were also the youngest. I also have older friends and always get along with older women so idk what more to do. It seems in damned if I try to befriend them and I’m damned if I don’t. I feel if I don’t fit in with this type of work culture they may find some excuse to fire me just because I’m not in with the clique as my department is small. Help.

This is very very common. It happens all the time. I would focus on my work being exemplary and be kind but quiet. Your manner is yours alone and most likely won't get you fired.

Let them say whatever they want to say and think whatever they want to think. You have no control over that. What you do control is your work ethic, your kindness to others and your ability to not let their attitudes affect you. Having friends at work is nice, but not necessary. Keep your friends for after hours and your work relationships cordial and professional. Let them deal with their pettiness and answer for their own attitudes. You do you. Plug in some headphones, listen to music or a pod cast and concentrate on doing the best job you can. Kill them with kindness.

It sounds like you have not gotten to know them and they haven't gotten to know you either. Just let them know, you know, I'm an introvert and happy to chat sometimes. There are cliques everywhere in every office. I've worked in them, and outside of them plus I've also worked a very long time. Are your colleagues about your age and maybe you just feel out of the clique.? I get along with just about everyone but not everyone is for me outside of work. Figure out what is tolerable. If it isn't then maybe seek work elsewhere in an environment that may fit your personality better. Just remember, those you work with today will not necessarily be part of your future.

They are all older than me. Maybe that’s why they don’t seek to tak to me

Reevaluate how you interact with them. If they see you are not interacting, then they may mock your behavior. You receive what behavior you put out there. Don't take it personally. Be the person that goes and talks with them. Open that door a little and you may see a change.
