you have a lot of typos in this message. But I think i understand what you are saying.

I would just be yourself and do your work. Don't worry about it. Maybe she just wanted to be sure you are ok.

It's fine. You don't need to take it negatively.

Introvert here! Be proud of you- you are doing fine! I've been asked this for years--

As a manager, I believe she is trying to get you to feel comfortable. Saying, "You're so quiet." is not questioning your attitude and work. I am concerned (as a manager) that you have no punctuation in your entire diatribe though. Long story short, smile, have fun and don't try to understand what her motives are, understand YOUR motives. Best of luck.

I agree with other comments: it sounds to me like your manager was trying to connect with you-- awkwardly!

Your manager is just being friendly. Maybe most of the employees there are more outgoing--bubbly, chatty, etc. In fact, it sounds as though your manager really cares about you and wants to be sure that you are happy there. Now in my case, I have been criticized, at times in my life, for being TOO friendly, and spending too much time chatting and not doing my job! So don't worry. From the way you write, it seems that English is not your first language; maybe you come from a culture where people are more serious and quiet while at work. Don't worry about that. But do try to improve your English skills. Above all, do NOT tell the manager that you just want to "get the job done" and "clock out at the end of the day." Even if that is what most people want, it can make a poor impression on your manager.

Don’t assume guilt. She stated she noticed you are quiet. She did not attach a value judgement to it. Maybe she is trying to see if you are quiet for a reason. Maybe she is trying to see if you like your new job. This could honestly be nothing. To me, the comment is benign. If there was not something else going on that you did not mention in your post, I wouldn’t be so offended.

If you've only been in your job for a month, chances are good that your manager is asking if you're ok/happy with your job. Usually managers schedule a quick Check-in meeting to do this. If your manager stops by in the future and asks how is it going, try to have a friendly general sincere question ready -not a complaint- so that you have something to chat about. Or have a brief positive story/bit of news to share.

Try to notice if your workplace seems to hire mostly bubbly, chatty, social employees, or if it is like that, for one reason or another. Some employers hire very social, outgoing employees at some managers' requests. This can be difficult if you have a job that requires careful concentration and if you have a heavy workload.

In coming weeks, consider scheduling perhaps a 5 or 10 minute visit with your manager once a week simply to say hello and get to know them, it also gives you a chance to ask questions and ask about resources, details about your dept., ask your manager if they would like you to do anything a bit differently or take on new tasks for them since you are just starting the position.

Good luck with your new job!

I know everyone is saying don’t take it personally but I would take it as them trying to get info out of you. Usually when someone does something wrong behind your back they will later say “why are you so quiet are you mad about something” a little reverse psychology.Just say alls good and go on about your day. You don’t have to be friendly if you don’t want to be.
