I had such a toxic work environment that my last review was not even written by my manager. It was written by a peer and they singled me out and gave me a blemish on my review in which in 15 years of working for various institutions of the same nature, I was a top leader. I constantly recognized my performance, and I was a role model for my team plus other accolades were given I have never had an issue like this before and I decided that after that review and I had to sign it that it didn’t matter what my rebuttal was I resigned. I felt like I had given them five great years of customer service and that’s what they did to me. I am not perfect and I do believe in constructive criticism and having things to work on in a review but when it’s really blatantly obvious, they cannot stand you and they’re gonna find anything to tarnish your performance. It’s time to move on best of luck to you. I can empathize with you .

It’s the new way that companies are using peer review as a means of ensuring that everyone is supposedly in the same page. ( Falls under the DEI definition) . What I am surprised about is that you had not been given a similar opportunity to review a fellow associate before you received the review that you found so offensive and there was no announcement that reviews were being done by fellow peers. This was not a spur of the moment review sprung last minute on you. In any case, you moved on from that workplace, where you found the atmosphere not helpful to making you feel appreciated . But be aware, this is a change being made in the workplace, to encourage all employees to know that they are not a single individual but part of a group team and your performance is not just to benefit your job but the team around you.
