I interviewed for a position as an executive assistant and was offered the job but with a different title and more money. I’ve been there since February. It’s been a challenge as the work is a lot and comes at us fast. I’ve spoken to my direct boss about the challenges and I believe it was well received. Today I saw a job listing for the job that I originally interviewed for. I’m concerned they are going to to replace me. It could be that they need to hire more people as we did hire just hire a project manager. However, I’m concerned because the work is a lot and I can’t keep up. I’ve taken days off and have actually worked through those days that I was supposed to have off because we’re that busy. Should I ask my boss about that position or leave it be? I’m so upset about it because as busy as it is, I really like it there. Any advice is appreciated.

Given that your current role title is different and pays better than the one you applied for, it’s possible that the role you currently hold is not the one you applied for, thus it is still vacant and being readvertised. Alternatively, It may be that they have created a second position to share the load, rather than replace you. Perhaps they didn't realise that the role would be as busy as it has become. If there is strong evidence that the company is advertising your current job without telling you, then it may be worth raising it with your employer informally before you do anything else - in as neutral language and as neutral a tone as possible.

Be confident / if you just got done saying you’re a bit overwhelmed as it is, maybe he had the budget to bring someone to help and cross train - it’s easier said than done sometimes - I do the same thing, if I see or talk about something relational to me or my department- I sometimes assume it’s “all about me” hahahaha
