Hello Everyone, I hope you are having a good day! Does anyone have a referral for an Executive Recruiter who works with candidates who may be in a career transition and the fees are paid by the potential employer? Thank you!

Are you looking for a job coach or a recruiter?

Recruiting fees are always paid by the company.

    Hi there,

I have worked with some recruiters who are only concerned about the company and the commission vs trying to also help the candidate find placement. In some cases I wouldn't receive feedback despite asking and in once case didn't receive any additional communication. This is very disappointing and I would think having a list of candidate at the ready would help recruiters with fill opportunities faster.

I am looking to make a late stage career change and haven't had a lot of success on my own. I have excellent executive skills and am hoping to work with someone to find better path for me where I am in life now and also find a placement and opportunity. I am limited on resources and given prior experience, I thought this forum may be a good resource for additional research.

    Thank you!

As a general rule, recruiters are working for the company. Recruiters find people for jobs, not jobs for people.

Thank you. Are there any niche firms that still work with candidates in an ongoing basis to place them while getting paid by the client?

In my experience, the majority of recruiting firms are either niche or have different practices specializing in different industries, professions, etc. Again, the company pays.

Executive recruiting companies always pick candidates who can step right into an executive position (Sr. Director, VP, and C-suite positions). Unless they are scams, the potential employer always covers the fee. Looking for a career transition at an executive level could be problematic because, by definition, these are not transition opportunities. I assume you have executive experience but want to work as an executive in a different industry. In that case, you should focus on the transferable skills and search for companies where the business aspect, rather than the industry knowledge, is their primary focus for the role. In this case, a career coach may be a better solution. They can help you customize your resume and may have ideas for networking and industries/companies that may be looking, as well as executive recruiters that support them.
