ADP is a company that truly appreciates a good performance. Period. I have never felt at a disadvantage for being a woman. I feel confident that if/when I continue to drive results, I have a promising career here. My (male) manager always initiates conversation about my career progression, has helped me immensely to get face time with senior leadership and introduces me to contacts valuable to my ideal career path.

ADP has been AMAZING! I'm very happy here. I joined ADP when I was four months pregnant and had two babies during my tenure. I remember being nervous to tell my hiring manager during the interview process, but she congratulated me and brought me immediately on board. (Fairygodboss, where were you six years ago during this frantic time? Glad you are here now to help others in a similar boat! :) Benefits have been great around maternity (and keep getting better!). The work/life balance has been fantastic - I do not need to miss out on the important things at home. Very flexible. The company is invested in development/training for all of its associates. This is important to me. I'm receiving fantastic leadership development training at the moment, as well as going through an external certification program paid for by the company so I can get better at what I do. Love this! I've been promoted three times in six years - there is definitely opportunity here! My work is challenging, rewarding, and fun. And, I feel that ADP has valued my contributions since day one. 5 stars!!!!!

Very flexible working environment and schedule. If something comes up (children's dr's appts, my dr's appts, school event, etc.), I am able to take care of the important family events and myself ... and make up the time later.

The info above was my experience several years ago. With my second child, I took three months. I was given an additional paid week for baby bonding time as well that I could use up until my child turned one year old. I believe I've seen new changes around parental leave - additional benefits, so not sure this is the most recent info.

Management was very supportive while I was pregnant. Allowed me to work remote whenever I didn't feel well and come and go when I had my monthly Dr. visits without having to use vacation time. During my last month they allowed me to work remote which was most helpful!

The more senior a role you are in will substantially increase demands of your time and virtually eliminate any work life balance. Executives are not so inclined to be flexible due to deliverables and outcomes that are due to lack of communication amongst teams.

The company values diversity and "a more human resource" but you need to do your part (it doesn't just "happen"): if you need to be at your child's school/game, then speak up and say you need to go -- determine if meetings can be rescheduled, etc. without impacting deliverables/deadlines. Also, if you need a day (or all-time) remote, then suggest it. It all depends on your role and manager -- but you need to do your part: It won't be offered if you don't ask....

Corporate stresses flexibility and focus on balance, but it has a LOT to do with your manager. It's up to you to set the boundaries of when you will/won't work (in terms of hours/days).

  • Took Maternity Leave Here? (Weeks)

Part of the paid leave was my vacation time. You may be able to take a week or two more than FMLA (unpaid), but you need to work it out with your manager. Also see if you can come back part time. They tend to be flexible.

ADP has been a great place for me to excel in my career. I have excelled here more than any other company I have worked for. The number of successful women (and men) willing and open to mentor women on the move is outstanding, and has been a big part of my success.
