"Your experience at Deloitte is highly dependent on the partner / director you work for. While my team is generally supportive of women, almost everyone who has kids has a spouse (usually a wife) with a very flexible career. People make comments like "You can't work in this industry if you have a family" and it's disheartening to women who love their job but also want to have children eventually. Other downsides include an unpredictable schedule. Deloitte also technically has great benefits, including generous maternity leave, but it's often difficult to manage the day-to-day. In my office, leadership is very middle-aged male."

"I worked there 11 1/2 years. Management is male dominated and not diverse in the shared services side. I did love working there but ended with a boss who did not like women. He showed favoritism and he is still there."

"Read about the Women's Initiative started as early as 1993. Various industries look closely at the model that Deloitte created here. Women are the architects of their own career here and have equal opportunity to develop, lead and thrive."

"I worked here for a year in the global technology department (DTTL) which was abusive and mostly mediocre. They constantly refer to themselves as "world class" and are the furthest thing imaginable from it. The leader of this department is mostly not seen and swans around the world doing very little and clearly believes that people are expendable and 10 a penny. When he deigns to show up at events which are mostly huge, expensive boondoggles, he usually stands in the hall or outside talking on the phone ignoring most of his staff until he's remained long enough to justify leaving.
At last check the attrition rate was above 20%.
People work through weekends and on marathon conference calls, top 'leadership' is not leadership at all but just the ones who have been there the longest and know where all the bodies are buried. They are almost all numb and burnt out but also ridiculously overpaid, so not going anywhere anytime soon.
This department seems to be an eddy for burn outs and people who can't hack it anywhere else. It's not particularly sexist, but the culture overall is very "work 100 hours to prove your loyalty" that it's just ridiculous. Lots of weakness and abusive behavior in leadership.
It's not a meritocracy and anyone who has anything going for them figures it out and gets out fast, or gets pushed out because they start pointing out what's not on the up and up at this place."
