"I would tell her that so long as she is in engineering, she will be treated somewhat decently initially, so long as her boss isn't a predatory creep. As soon as she learns enough to have opinions of her own, she will be undermined, overlooked, and insulted on a regular basis. The pay is well below industry standard. And there's a reason women and minorities don't stay. The company culture is exclusive, competitive, and unrewarding. "

"When I directly bring up issues I'm experiencing in my role related to inclusion and equity -- he occasionally feigns empathy and more often ignores my comments and exits the conversation as quickly as he can. This is after three of our most senior (and high-performing) women quit a few months ago. There's clearly a company culture issue, and none of the men in power are interested in changing it. "
