"I was fired for my disabilities after asking for accommodations for months and they refused to give them. Paid $28.50 an hour, less than what full time interns were paid and I was a “junior” manager who reported directly to senior management. I got 5 days paid off a year and was expected to use those to pay for federal holidays off as well! I was in a department where I was the only female and so I saw huge differences in how I was treated. We only had one female intern during a summer and she agreed with me that there weren’t a lot of women. The group I was in there was a lot of sexual jokes, meetings were very uncomfortable making jokes about how women didn’t know anything or that contracters (I was one) didn’t know anything. They started talking about letting people go and said contractors would go first and the management was complaining openly about their bonuses! Here I am fired for disabilities (of course that’s not how they made it look...so I didn’t get unemployment even) and they were mad about bonuses. Don’t work here if you want to be valued as a woman, they’ll talk behind your back as if you know nothing. Maybe other groups are different but engineering was horrible and HR did nothing to help (contract company and Chrysler’s). "

"High turnover in managers in engineering. I had one manager for 3 years and then right before I was fired for my disabilities, we got a new one-who I was honest with that I needed help and he said he would work with HR. Apparently working with hr meant planning to fire me. When they get a better opportunity they run for the hill to it. "
