Please give little flexibility in location wise.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. IBM is giving a great opportunity to work with client and also flexible in timings specially for women its very useful. But priority to the transport is given last which is really required for the employees who travel to IBM offices from long distances.

IBM should not be seen only as a place for one to enjoy work from homes. Our leader Ginni has transformed the whole organization where we are now competitive and have everything on cutting edge technologies. Men and women are treated equal and we have women as leaders in multiple fields.

my company and colleagues respect family time and are flexible in terms of working hours. Ensuring that quality of work and project deadlines are not compromised. Being in Global Business Services, we are allowed to take calls on different timezones from home. This has helped me manage work and running a home stress free.

Being women, you would always be categorized as a second grade employee, irrespective of your talent and efforts. Be ready to be treated as non-smart workers, and to get lower ratings and packages as compared to your equal/less efficient male partners.

Change in mindset and attitude of higher leadership. It's only a saying that IBM respects diversity, but women pay for that "flexibility by getting lower ratings, lesser promotions, low pay. It's not a real flexibility, its a trade between a women employee and her personal requirements. I have myself been through cases where Male employees are not available in office hours, but that becomes ok for managers. But a women employee "coming early, leaving early" is seen as "unavailability" of that women.

I would definitely recommend other women to join our company. There is less stress comparatively and also it is very flexible with time and work as long as the work is done. we have more options like work from home unlimited sick leaves, cab facilities and many more. we have IBM club which conducts several fun activities. IBM has very less tolerance to workplace harassment. With all these benefits it is really hard to leave IBM once joined. But the only thing that i found a little disappointing is the compensation.
