"There are a lot of women in HR and marketing. There is a permeating mentality that women are difficult to work with, and people will walk on eggshells, at the expense of clear communication, in order to not offend certain women. When working with other teams, the rules change depending on the department you're working with, your seniority compared to each person you work with, your age, your direct manager, and so on. You can be very successful if you're good at those situations. If you're not, probably best to move on."

"In MGD and MGT, you will be asked to defend every statement you make, told to ask questions privately when men ask publicly, chastised for taking any time off if others notice, and will fight hard for recognition. You will have amazing medical and leave benefits, and the people are really amazing if you can separate the person from the job in your head."
