"I would say that historically the culture has not been accommodating to women, and that WUSM has generally reflected the white male-dominated society in which we live. But the current leaders of WUSM and WU more broadly are genuinely committed to cultural transformation. Having more women in leadership roles has the potential to accelerate this transformation and to create a more positive and inclusive culture at WUSM and WU. "

"Cover your bum. Get it in writing, and then follow up to make sure you communicate anything said in a phone call in writing as well. Sad, but absolutely necessary."

"Come in knowing your facts about the position in which you are seeking employment. Know the salary ranges for your job grade, know when and how much of an increase you qualify for, stay connected with HR, and document....document.....document Leave a paper trail for EVERYTHING"
