"The US Navy as a whole cannot be reviewed by one person. As a woman, I was fortunate to be treated equally to my male counterparts, but it is not always the case. The Navy has made great strides in the recent past to treat men and woman equally, and will continue to do so as strong leadership, both men and women, recognize the shortcomings and address them. I have seen first hand how this is happening in today's Navy, and I'm so happy for the future!"

"If you are enlisted, think carefully about your chosen rate. There is a saying, "Choose your rate, choose your fate." There are rates that will be inherently better to your quality of life, and it is essential to research and reach out to those who were in that rate to make sure it is something that meets your needs."
