"I can only speak as someone with experience from more technical fields, such as a large manufacturer of Windows programs and a Japanese technology manufacturer that is always confused with a film company, and by far SiriusXM is the first one where I have not felt belittled just for being female in a technology field. Previously, I have had my work blatantly disregarded based solely on my looks, both good and bad, as well as suggested it could be accomplished by someone much less qualified than myself simply because they were attractive. However, since coming to SXM I have not experienced any specific disregard in that manner, and in fact I have seen my efforts rewarded in moving forward with responsibility and being trusted in the decisions I'm advising, because I have not been afraid to speak on issues I see as relevant. I'm sure not everyone here is perfect, but by not feeling hindered I have been able to shine a light on areas that needed to be addressed and that's progress."

"Your experience will depends heavily on your manager. Every department /team is different and managers have full reign on making decisions. If you have to advocate for yourself if your manager is not going to do it for you. And, there is a bit of a boys club mentality within the executive management team. "

"Pandora does offer reasonable benefits, and depending on your team and manager, is fairly flexible. However, I find it difficult to carve out a clear career path with an upward trajectory as a woman here, see very few women and minorites in leadership positions, and have been surpassed in pay by all male counterparts in my department, despite having been with the company for longer, and in several cases holding a more senior role. The company touts diveristy as a big priority, but I am not entirely sure that is refected in practice. "
