"I definitely think that the benefits offered working for the State of Florida outweigh the lack of flexibility of working for the State of Florida. "

"Keep going for the promotions. It depends which agency you work for but some are very flexible. "

"Flexibility varies depending on the Department you work for and your individual manager. Across the board, there are many policies in place (such as telecommuting) but generally it is still very hard to get leadership to buy in and actually try something new. The benefits are great but there are no cost of living or performance based raises so you have to job hop if you want to earn more!"

"Great place to work if you work hard. Great place to learn as well."

"There are many women working here, even in management. In fact, the head of the agency is currently a woman. Maternity leave is a combo of annual leave and sick leave (you get 176 and 124 every annual anniversary and it accrues) up to six months. Advancement can be very political particularly to the higher- ranking and paying positions."
