"Very few women in senior leadership roles may left me feeling like I didn't have many strong role models within the organization. However, I did feel that the opinions of women were valued across most areas in the organization. The work life balance is great!"

"If you are in the technology/engineering/sales/marketing departments then it may be good career path. If you're working in the back office (finance, legal, hr) it is just average."

"I've worked here for a long time (7 years) and have seen the company grow from <400 employes to >1,500. A lot has changed since it went public and not necessarily for the better. One thing that has been consistent is the poor annual merit based increases (maximum is 3%), which they try to get away with by providing quarterly bonuses that are based on personal and business goals. I know from speaking with my peers at other companies that TripAdvisor pays on the lower end of the scale. Depending on the department, it's very hard to get a promotion unless you have surpassed everything in your role for several years.
It's definitely not a place for a 9-5 job, and cannot imagine how any parent can juggle working here and deliver 150%. You definitely learn a lot and you have the opportunity to work with some very bright people. It's a good springboard to further your career, but not long term."

"It's a good company to work for, but it's undeniable that men do better here. I think that's due to a lack of diversity (gender, race, and background) -- the company as a whole is diverse, but there are "pink ghettos" where all the women and minorities are found, and workers are paid thousands less. We're a media company, but engineering and product are the "golden children" where the real opportunities and money are found. Also, I left my previous department after being mommy-tracked. I'm grateful for the chance to move to a new team, but I'm now trying to get my career back on track."
