"The speed of your upward mobility is really dependent on your manager and anyone else they report up to regardless of performance and reviews. I recommend to always be advocating for yourself and making sure you have open communication with your manager about your expectations or else promotions will pass you by."

"Different offices are treat women differently. The central NYC has a very active women's network making great strides. The company as a whole is committed to equality. However, some of the satellite offices have not made as much progress."

"this is a great place for women to work- company supports women initiatives"
"I believe that the company truly is committed to making this a great place for everyone to work at, but you often have to fight to be seen and heard — especially if you aren't at the New York HQ."
"AppNexus is an incredible place to work for women. We still have some work to do, but the commitment to D&I from the top down and overall culture makes me really proud to be here. "
"The inequality at AppNexus is super team specific, I've had awesome female mentors and there are teams that have a great culture, but my professional experience has been very negative, especially when it comes to gender equality. I'd caution women applying to AppNexus to make sure their direct manager is an advocate and their team is known as a supportive one. I'd also keep in mind that AppNexus reorganizes frequently, so be prepared for a bit of career roulette. You can potentially develop here, but there are places in the organization where the only promotions and pay increases go to a very homogenous group, I'd be wary of this before you accept a position."
"AppNexus largely is a woman-friendly environment. Leaders are doing more to promote women into leadership positions and ensure equity across the board. There are certainly still some people who don't "get it," but speaking up and calling those folks out is encouraged."
"Yes - I already tell all of my friends about how great it is here!"
"Don't be afraid to ask for what you want, or to speak your mind in meetings, there are a fair number of women in leadership positions who would gladly join you in a meeting to help amplify what you are saying or observe and give you feedback. "
"I think it's very team dependent on whether you feel included as a woman or not. "
"Overall the company values work-life balance, flexibility, being inclusive, hiring fairly for diversity, training on unconscious bias, etc... and they talk about it A LOT. Unfortunately, there are sometimes individuals (ex: engineering managers) who seem to ignore this and don't attend the offered training because they don't view it as a part of their job description. "
"Very supportive, inclusive community. The affinity groups (both for women and other groups) are very active, and love all the programs and events designed to support professional growth for women."
"AppNexus is filled with people who are wildly smart, collaborative and believe in hard work. Many companies have a set of values, but AppNexus truly lives and breathes those values - learning and teaching, improving the bigger system, empowering customers and overall making great things happen. "
"The company is genuinely committed to creating a diverse and inclusive community for both ethical and business reasons."

"a company that really promotes woman in the workplace, has a policy of flexible working which they encourage both men and woman to use."
"The employer takes diversity & inclusion seriously. They consciously feature female leaders as presenters in company summits. As a minority, I feel respected. It's really a great place to work."
"Employer is very supportive of women and continues to head in the right direction. "
"Don't think twice! It is a great place to work!"
"We still lack women in manager roles. Fortunately, the leadership team is on board with gender equality at the company and has been working to address biases and growth opportunities for women at the company. "
"That D&I is very clearly valued and on the minds of top leadership all the way down, and that I personally have always felt valued and respected."
"It's a competitive environment. Be prepared to compete with extroverts if you are an introvert."
"I would tell her that women have a strong voice here, which gets stronger through initiatives like Girl say that diversity and inclusion are important values here that are echoed within the company. "
"They are focusing on diversity efforts now. There are a few groups focused on fostering women and their careers."
"Culture is sometimes dependent on the team that you're on!"
"It is a great place to work. Great people, Amazing values and Open culture"

"You will be happy to work with such an intelligent and considerate group of humans."
"GREAT place to work! I would love to see more women in leadership and a heavier emphasis on mentorship "
"AppNexus is very focused on increasing diversity and inclusion within its walls. They are striving to make the company one of the best places for women to work, and making strides toward that effort."
"I love working at AppNexus because it has a great people's development team, it promotes diversity and inclusion and it has a very friendly working environment "
"Really big push over the last year around diversity and inclusion, which is great. Maternity pay & experience is not good compared to the rest of the industry, and needs to be addressed."
"The Women's Network at AppNexus is strong providing a wonderful support network. "
"it's a great place to work, as a mother they support us, we have a nursing room, flexibility to work from home for example"
"It's a culture that promotes learning and creating/embracing opportunities. They love to encourage you to find the position that makes you the most happy and engaged. "
"Certain departments are definitely more women balanced than others. Overall it's a great place to be a woman - we have a great network and there's a lot of attention to improving gender in the workplace. "
"I would highly recommend AppNexus to any women, it is an inclusive, friendly and fun place to work."
"No company is perfect, AppNexus included, but I truly believe we do more than other companies to promote an inclusive workplace, and foster a culture where I don't feel attacked or put down for being a woman. "
"D&I is something that we think and talk about frequently at AppNexus, and I believe something our leaders value and are committed to improving. I think we've made a lot of progress toward making AppNexus a very inclusive place to work in the almost 3 years I've been here."
"There is some fantastic female leadership in the company. They are inspiring, open, and "
"Almost everyone here is very open to discussing gender inequality that exists in the workplace, which is great. Change comes slowly, but the company is committed to making it happen."
"I think managers really care about their employees and are flexible when it comes to family/personal work life balance. They trust you that as long as your get work done they dont micro manage."
"I would tell another woman that AppNexus does push for initiatives for equal opportunity. We have a strong AppNexus Women's Network whose mission is to ensure equal opportunity for women at AppNexus and throughout the tech community"
"Many women in senior leadership positions to look up to! "
"The company really condones flexibility and is family friendly. Work life balance is important as well!"
"I've NEVER felt that I've been treated any differently for my stature, gender, looks, style, etc. - AppNexus is a truly open employer, eager to facilitate a comfortable work environment for a diverse population!"
"AppNexus provides an engaging, friendly work environment and the company truly values the employees who work here. People are encouraged to bring "their whole selves" to work, which includes personal passions and interests. "
"The people at AppNexus are amazing. They are smart, curious, and care deeply about problem-solving related to both work issues and societal issues. AppNexus is a place where you can have meaningful conversations with your co-workers. The business cares about D&I, but changes have not come as quickly as planned. Recent hires in VP of D&I and Head of People Management are promising "
"It's not the best, it's not the worst. We continue to make progress, and it's a much better time to be a woman at AppNexus than it was several years ago. The changes have been driven by the women at the company and the women (or woman) in top leadership position(s). If leadership were to change, I'm afraid the efforts and emphasis on women and work/life harmony would fade. There is a lot of talk around allyship, but in my experience the men at the company do not come to the defense of women when they witness bias, discrimination, or harassment. I think that is not so much a reflection on AppNexus, as it is a reflection on our society. "
"I truly believe there are many opportunities for growth within our company. We are committed to building a culture that fosters women."
"AppNexus is dedicated to improving and maintaining diversity and inclusion. There are many women in high leadership positions."
"As a women, AppNexus is a great place to work. We are aware of improvements to be made in terms of gender diversity, so it is at the top of most leader's minds. "
"Appnexus is very nice place to work and more flexible hours. "
"It is a great place to work if your direct manager can work with you and gives you flexibility"
"Strong Affinity Groups that support development and growth as well as social issues impacting communities."
"I'd mention that although the D&I efforts sometimes seem to fall short sometimes or its unclear what work is being done, it does seem like AppNexus cares about it and does want to be a more inclusive place. I might complain sometimes about the authenticity behind these diversity initiatives and or have critiques but I do realize that it might be worse at other companies. "
"I'd say there are a lot of women in engineering compared to many companies although there are not many women in senior positions without also taking on management roles."
"Everyone (man or woman) has a chance to succeed at this employer. You just have to push your hardest and shine. AppNexus will always be there to see you shine and make you brighter, "
"I have worked in business and non-profit organizations of varying sizes. Hands down, AppNexus has the most progressive policies and inclusive culture to ensure women have equal opportunity to succeed. We go above and beyond to create an inclusive workplace, which is something I fear employees who haven't worked elsewhere fully appreciate."
"AppNexus is making slow and steady strides toward promoting gender diversity and inclusion in the workplace, but they still have a long way to go. Many entry-senior level employees are very passionate about initiatives related to women and underrepresented groups. Improvement needs to continue to happen at the executive level in terms of prioritizing these initiatives. "
"This is a fantastic place to work, regardless of gender. It's inclusive, diverse, respectful, and always fun. I would be hard press to find such a great environment at any other company"
"There is a strong focus on diversity and inclusion at AppNexus. Everything that is done promotes equality for all and it is a great organization to be apart of!"
"This is a fun place to work. However, depending on the office you work from the culture towards women may vary. "
"AppNexus cares a lot about diversity and inclusion, and this spans from the CEO to the junior ranks. We have a robust women's network and are constantly looking to do things to ensure everyone feels welcome and empowered. "
"AppNexus is an advocate of equality and encourages women of all backgrounds to succeed. If something is not right, the company takes efforts to fix it!"
"This place gets it, it really really really really gets it"
"One of the reasons I feel so excited about my future with AppNexus is my involvement in and the support I receive from our Women's Network. Both professionally and personally, I feel it has only amplified my growth within my workplace and far beyond."
"The company is encouraging a very open conversation about gender diversity and adjusting real-time. "
"This is not only a great environment for women, but there are a lot of networking and community building opportunities for women. "
"This company is definitely striving to make improvements so as to accommodate working mothers. It might not be completely there yet, but definitely taking baby steps."
"I have found AppNexus to be a very flexible and supportive work environment. It is difficult that engineers here tend to be very similar, but that's a problem with our industry as a whole. And my manager and team members are doing their best to try and support me. My biggest wish is that pair programming was a part of the culture at the New York office."
"Everything about this company has reminded me that I, too, am a strong woman in tech. My interview process was amazing, using a blind resume for hiring me as an intern (where I soon after joined as a full-time employee). My interviews were held with all females, all members of the team I ended up joining, which is noticeably female and tech-centric. It's an inspiring place to work, and I'm surrounded by strong female role models, including the Chief Data Scientist who I've received words of advice from, the VP of the Analytics organization who has taken it upon herself to get to know me personally even though I've worked for only a month, my manager who helps me time and time again and balances so much work, and so many other inspiring women. Appnexus truly cares about facilitating a safe, diverse, and inclusive space for women, not to mention people of all genders, races, ages, etc. I feel heard and respected here, and I can't wait to grow in my career here."
"Flexible and accepting work environment. However, its competitive which sometimes makes it hard to get ahead if you keep a good work-life balance. "

"It is not an equal playing field yet, but trending in the right direction. Leadership team is aware of lack of representation in leadership and potential compensation inequity and making strides to course correct. "

"Support for diversity initiatives from upper management. However, promotion review processes are opaque and ever changing, no transparency into salary ranges by role."

"Its tough in engineering - but otherwise a great place to work."
"This is a company of highly talented, driven individuals. There are some wonderful female leaders who help facilitate forward movement for women on their team. "
"Put on your thick skin. The environment can be a bit harsh but that is not gender specific in any way."
