How to keep food thread

People donate food for meals while I am not there, and stuff accidentally gets stored wrong sometimes. I've tried leaving an easy reference sheet, but I guess I need to figure out a fun labeling system so everything has a place to go. Pantry, separate from each other, cool and out of the light: in a crate-tomatoes, watermelon, pineapple, apple, bananas, pears; sweet potatoes, potatoes, onions- I use dark pillowcases Refrigerator: cabbage, celery, bells, carrots, radish, cauliflower, broccoli, brussels, lettuce, squash, berries, grapes Freezer please don'ts: lettuce or please don't without prepping it : anything else We get weird donations sometimes, I guess we can make running lists.

When running a Kitchen off donated items that may be different from week to week, it's good to be flexible and be able to ask for help. There are also outside factors that may be in play as well, such as volunteers, training, storage, equipment, etc. Come to us with any questions and ideas and we will answer and be appreciative, and help if help is needed.
