Working on degree not looking for work
How do you professionally handle the job offers that do not pertain to your degree? Also how do you politely turn down offers because you are working on your degree and just not ready to commit to a career?
I’m deeply embarrassed of my situation even though I have so many advantages.
I am flattered job offers come through. Within my studies, my son’s age and education, and the demands at home I am not able to fully commit. Please ladies I really need some help with thank you maybe later
I hate to close any doors!
Hi Crystal, thanks for reaching out! It's fantastic to hear that you're getting job offers. I think in this case, you can feel very confident showing your gratitude for the opportunity and being brief in why you're declining. A simple "I'm not able to take that on right now as I'm still in school" or "I'm really interested in the organization but not sure that job is the right fit for my skills and experiences. " From there, I'd emphasize how you'd like to stay in touch, connect on LinkedIn and periodically check in or update them when you're in a better position to take them up on an offer.
Thank you soooo much! I really appreciate it. I do make sure to express gratitude and that my focus is on long term goals.
