Who here is planning on quitting her job or wants to quit her job this year?
I am shopping around. The market is do hot right now, I am making sure I don't miss an opportunity due to my extreme comfort and complacency right now.
Good for you, keep the momentum going!
I am.
I have been in my current role for several years. I know I am good at my job, but the climate is getting difficult. We are selling too many projects at tight schedules, without any buffers for Covid supply chain problems, and we then get critized and written up when our customers are pissed off (excuse my language) for not delivering. This is way worse than dealing with and managing the usual problems.
I am at a stage where I am burnt out and don't care anymore.
The problem is that I have been doing project management for many years and really don't have any technical skills outside of that. And managing projects by its very nature never lets you rest. I want to be able to leave work and not worry.
So I am really struggling to figure out what to do next.
I completely understand. It's hard to see how much you have to offer when you are under pressure like that and burned out. I imagine you have lots of skills that are actually underutilized based on the demand currently. I understand the struggle, was burned out for many years until I learned to bridge toward my next career and utilized my job as a stepping stone. Happy to share the way that can work for you?
Me - though not sure if the grass is really greener on the other side....
The grass is what you make it no matter where you are.
That would be me!! lol
