I wanted some advice regarding Salesforce Certifications.
Last year I took a boot camp that required me to pass 2 Salesforce Certifications (Associate and Admin). I did not pass the exams and now I feel like I am going in the wrong direction. Do you know if Salesforce is the right Certification for people entering the tech field?
Salesforce Certs are a great way to get into Salesforce, even without experience, as most roles require Salesforce Admin at the very least. Otherwise, true experience will get you further in other companies, but I think all training is valuable. Understanding how Salesforce is structuring the questions will help you pass your certifications, as they tend to be tricky with the wording (like SATs).
See if you can retake it. But know this, if you don't have the basic experience, your cert doesn't mean anything. I was an IT recruiter. Certs do not mean much in IT unless you have the experience to back it. If you have Project Management experience, then look into Six Sigma. That seems to hold weight or PMP certs. Depends on your experience and then aligning certifications that complement your experience. Gives it a little extra oomph!
I guess it depends on what you want to do. Do you also get a free retake?
Salesforce is a great Operations type certification that supports many areas of business in just about every industry. I have used it as a valuable credential in Business Development, Operations and in Sales Support
