Seeking your guidance and advice.
After 15 months of unemployment due to the pandemic, I accepted a bridge position to help get back into the workforce. I've recently started pursuing other job opportunities, hired a resume writer and will confidentially reach out to my connections (via phone or email).
What's the best approach to be kept top of mind for job opportunities when I'm having these discussions?
I'm anxious to transition to another role but want to ensure it's not another bridge position. What's worked for you when you landed your best job opportunity?
Alternatively, has anyone had success working with recruiters? Any feedback, comments and success stories would be greatly appreciated!
Using a recruiter during this time can be helpful. Build a relationship with one or two and keep in touch. I am sorry it took that long for you to get back into the market but I think you are doing all the right steps to find your passion job!!
How do advise finding a good recruiter to work with, or other professionals to improve my search (resume/interview advisors, etc)?
Thanks Tomilyn! I appreciate your response and would love to get your advice on specific recruiters to target based on my experience and career goals.
Linkedin has been my best friend, and the past couple of interviews I took and finally my new job was all because of the networking I did there. It sounds like you are taking a lot of great steps to help get you into a new role, but what feels like the best next step to get you where you want to go?
Figure out exactly what you want, and connect with those in the industry or role you'd like to work in. Ask them about their journey. And then let them know that if in the future any roles come up if they would keep you in mind. Or if you could touch base with them in a couple months. Just make sure when you reach our you let them know what the call is about, & I usually try to keep it to 15 min., max 30.
