I've got 4 years of sales experience and am looking to transition out of sales & move. Any advice on how to market myself / find a role that will hire me without direct experience?
So this is a little long winded sorry. I just really resonate with where you are. I am in the same boat as you except I never wanted to be in sales, the role I took was not supposed to be sales but moved that way quickly with changes in the market and multiple title changes. Get me out of here!! I am not a salesman unless I truly believe in what I’m selling and I just can’t make myself believe here (acute behavioral healthcare) even though I have trained staff how to “sell” the product without believing. Everything you said you’re looking for is the same for me. I need a role where I can be creative, collaborative , manage and lead, strategically plan, review and improve process. These are the areas where I shine. I am the ideas person so sales enablement sure but even that title makes me nervous as I can not seem to get out of the business development pigeon hole. Any advice anyone has, if you get some great tips, please let me know.
What do you want to do next?
My options are a bit open...program manager, community manager, marketing, maybe sales enablement because of my sales experience. I'm not 100% sure or locked into a role. I want to be collaborative, creative, and use my leadership skills.
