I have spent the last 20 years working for the same company and climbing the ladder.
I finally had my dream job but the office environment was horrible. The top level had their head in the sand ; HR was afraid to offend anyone in case they would leave and the good ones were leaving in droves. I opted for early retirement and decided to live off my pension for a few months while I search for a career position that is the best for for work progression and family.
Now I'm ready to seriously look
for that next position! I know I made the right decision!
It's odd to me how many companies never seem to notice the groups with extremely high turn-over. It costs so much to find the right people. And as you note, many good people will leave a toxic environment, and a bad manager is the most frequently given reason for leaving a company voluntarily.
Congratulations on your decision! Best wishes finding your dream job in a great environment!
Good for you for taking control of your career!
Congratulations on making that decision. Office environment and work load wear on a person. Stepping back will give you time to assess your goals and what you want to do in the future.
Great decision! You got this. Remember to take some time to craft your brand so you can amplify across the various job seeking channels!
An unpleasant office environment wears you out but good, even when you love your job -- and that is a sorry situation. I think you did make the right decision, and that's a brave thing to do.
Thank you I don’t think people understand unless you are in the situation.
That's wonderful!
I'm a professional Resume Writer, and I wanted to give you a helpful resume writing tip. One of the most important things you can tailor your resume for each job you apply to. This greatly increases your chances of passing the applicant tracking system (ATSs) scanning process and getting your resume into the hands of a Recruiter or Hiring Manager.
I'm happy to offer you a free resume review and give you additional tips. If you're interested, feel free to email me at [email protected].
Again, congrats for making this leap for your happiness and family!
Best of luck to you!
Thank you Sabrina. I am going to take you up on this. I did apply to one position I found on here not expecting anything but a rejection letter and they have invited me to do a video interview. I’m so nervous.
Oh, great, and congrats on the interview! I have a few tips that I can send over - ones that I've used myself too.
When is your interview? Email me and I'll shoot them over to you. :)
Congrats on making a decision that fits you and adds to your happiness.
