Looking for jobs as a Project Manager
I'm a recent Stanford grad (MA sociology, BA psychology) looking for a job as a Project Manager. If anyone with experience in that had some tips for the job search and could look over my resume that would be lovely :)
happy to help, but do you have any experience in project management? Research related even?
I do! I have 4 years of research experience across different psychology labs.
working for the military or the department of defense is a strong option for you! Do you live close to any military installations? You have both the Department of Defense hiring on new program managers daily, but then you have mass amounts of contracting companies that work for DoD also hiring on PMs. The only barrier you may face is the language used working for the DoD, but I’m certain you’d catch on. For the actual DoD positions, the only way to apply is on their official hiring website. I believe it’s https://www.USAjobs.gov. The contracting jobs are going to be on their specific websites or on something like Indeed. Think Lockheed Martin and Boeing. I also recommend looking into getting your PMP. It’s a great certification to have if you want to be in program management, and the government jobs look highly upon them. Best of luck!
