Hi, I was laid off in Aug 2022 and have been applying and working with recruiters to find another position in accounting.
Eventhough I've expressed that I'm looking for a full time perm opportunity recruiters will only contact me with contract opportunities. Can any one recommend recruiting firms for accounting that will treat you like a viable candidate and not view you as a job filler for one of the positions they have on their list?
Check out Robert Half. You can even look on their website and see listed job openings. Trusted Staffing & Talent Solutions | Hire Staff & Find a Job | Robert Half https://www.roberthalf.com I've had great success with them.
Thanks Karen. I was with RH for 10 yrs and they found one contract position for me. They have never helped me find a perm opportunity so I don't use.
10 years is a long time to be with a company. Job postings are online so you can look without committing, in case you are interested.
hahaha don't work with recruiters. Maybe 5% of them legit care about the candidate. Most don't, and like HR, they work for the client, not for you. Do your own apps and research and you'll come out ahead.
I've had great success working with recruiters. Friends I know have also had good success. Buyer beware. You are your own best advocate.
DIY is always better- you can do this!!!
Right now so many companies have frozen hiring until they see how bad the recession hits next year. Contract positions are the way around that situation.
If only I could land one! I'de be a happy camper!
