Any job suggestions for Single Moms?

I need something flexible, someone understanding that if my child is sick she is my first priority. I need to be able to leave my job to take her to the Doctor. I need a job where I can make my own hours or at least can be sensitive to my needs. I know it's not ideal. If I could work from home that would be perfect..maybe?..My background is in veterinary medicine, I've been a veterinary technician/receptionist for years, it has it's up's and downs but I love animals and I love the medical field. No judgement zone here, thanks mom's.

It seems like being a vet receptionist/scheduler could be done from home and with your experience, you would also know whether to escalate calls or not. It's not uncommon to get an answering service when I call my small vet's office. Honestly, I think a lot of receptionists work off site so that might be a possiblity. I also understand medical billing pays fairly well and is often done from home. There is also plenty of freelance writing work out there - maybe you can find some gigs writing about animals? After the shock of the pandemic, many employers have become significantly more flexible now that they have experienced the positives of wfh and know the burden work puts on parents better now. I think you might be surprised at how many positions offer wfh and/or flexible hours if you start looking around.
