Last week my partner brought tea to my desk only to find me swearing with hearty enthusiasm at my laptop.
Whilst I do enjoy the relief of a private, foul-mouthed rant, the look on his face told me I needed a quick reframe to bring me back to serenity.
Quick reframe:
From: This is happening to me
To: This is happening.
Once I released judgment about myself and others in my situation, I took a step back, saw the bigger picture, and decided what to do.
Seeing a situation without interpreting it as either good or bad allows us to access our internal resources much faster. We are then better able to act from a creative and empowered place.
What do you need to take a step back from today?
Jennifer,
I manage these situations the same as you, with one small (but significant) modification:
To: This is happening FOR me.
I look for the lesson, the gain, the benefit in the situation. I trust that the universe is conspiring in my favor (even if I can't see the upside in the moment).
Yes, Lesa!!
Great build Lesa!
