There are days when something is just "off".
Nothing is wrong, really, but you can't shift a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach. Or maybe a flatness that drains your energy.
When that happens to me, usually I know it's because I am either behaving or thinking in a way that is out of alignment with my core values.
Sometimes it's easier to live up to someone else's values and surrender your own, particularly when you want that temporary fix of the other's approval. But that fix is like a sugar rush that soon disappears and leaves your energy depleted.
My values are my internal compass. Life is fulfilling when I live by them and unfulfilling when I don't.
The starting point for keeping that compass pointing north is developing a greater sense of who you are and what most matters to you. It takes effort, practice, and intention to realign, but equilibrium and energy are restored when you do.
