Hi All! I am new to this group and looking to gain some insight into how I can be a better leader and inspire my team, as well as myself. One specific thing I'm struggling with now is how I can lead and inspire my team, when I am feeling down and a bit burnt out?
I think any leader would share feeling the same. Have you read "Dare to Lead" by Brene Brown? Demonstrating vulnerability can be a strength. Sometimes we forget when we are human we are leading authentically. It's ok to say I don't know or this is a hard day...and show faith in your team that you will get through the challenge together. Ask the team for advice and solutions, they are there to support you too.
That's such a good point. I have always struggled with asking for help and being more vulnerable - something to work on for sure!
Inspiration can come in different form, including for yourself. It is recommended to boost yourself before others, yet we are expected to always be on. I actually did a vulnerable moment a few weeks back, when I told me team on a weekly call. I just don't have it this week guys. I need you to run the call, and provide the solutions to these three problems. My team rallied around me, and gave me the boost that I needed.
