Seeking a New Career

Hello! I'm new to the group and I'm currently seeking a career change in my mid-30's and I'm terrified! I've worked in sales/marketing since I was 22, right out of college and over the past 5-6 years have felt extremely empty by the field. As I move to what I want to be when I grow up, I'm interested in clinical mental health counseling or social work. It does require schooling again, which terrifies me in different ways. I just want to make sure taking the leap will be the right choice, as we all know it's scary pursuing something so different. Any advice out there or any Mental Health workers or social workers? Thank you!

Hi Lauren, I'm working for a career start-up that helps with this exact thing! You can arrange a strategy call with the founder, it's 100% free and they help you to figure out which career might be your best fit and how to achieve the switch! You can schedule the free call here:https://calendly.com/elissa-arcvida/career-strategy-session?month=2021-06

Hello Lauren, I have worked in the mental health field for 3 years and I takes a lot out of a person to pursue this kind of career but it's also very rewarding. If you feel like this is your true passion I would say go for it. Don't let anything stop you even if it means going back to school. Look at all the good you can accomplish in the mental health field with the knowledge you will gain and put to good use. One thing that I have learned in this life is to pursue your goals no matter what. You don't know who you will meet that might be able to assist you along your journey. I hope my advice is helpful. Sincerely, Katrina
