You might consider looking for data-focused roles at large companies, tech firms, or startups that operate in the hospice, palliative care, or behavioral health space. Your deep experience in the customer’s world could be a huge asset in landing your first data or analytics position.
For many companies—especially in tech—having someone on the team who truly understands the end user or customer journey can be incredibly valuable. It helps them build better tools, interpret data more meaningfully, and improve services that directly impact patients or clients.
Once you’ve built experience in a data role within that familiar space, you’ll be in a strong position to pivot into other industries if you decide you want to move away from healthcare entirely.
This is actually the path I took to transition from a clinical healthcare role into a career in tech, and it’s worked really well.
