Landing Job or Internship as a Fresher

Landing Job or Internship as a Fresher

I graduated with a degree in engineering in 2023 and spent six months actively searching for jobs, attending various hiring tests, and interviews. Afterward, I completed a six-month certification course as a cybersecurity analyst. Now, I’m back to job searching, and as we all know, it can be challenging to land a job as a fresher. I’m also eager to continue enhancing my knowledge in cybersecurity through more relevant certifications. However, finding a job or internship is critical for me right now due to financial pressures, and my parents are urging me to focus on getting employed rather than spending more time studying.

The financial barrier is holding me back from pursuing further studies, which makes the job search even more important. Could you provide any advice on how to overcome this situation? How can I improve my chances of landing a job as a fresher? What criteria should I keep in mind while applying? Additionally, how can I find scholarships for financially constrained candidates? I’d greatly appreciate any advice or experiences from professionals in the tech field. Thank you in advance!

Hello: Below are some responses to your questions.

    (1) Could you provide any advice on how to overcome this situation? Perhaps getting an Intern outside of Cybersecurity to start with. Also, work with your school to see if they can help track down some intern leads. (2) How can I improve my chances of landing a job as a fresher? Expand your intern options by looking into direct Engineering jobs. Focus on Cybersecurity for a 2nd intern job (3) What criteria should I keep in mind while applying? Tailor your resume and cover letter to the job description. Also, run your resume through an ATS resume checker. (4) Additionally, how can I find scholarships for financially constrained candidates? This link can be a starting point. https://www.thescholarshipcollective.com/blog/top-scholarships-for-low-income-students . I did a search on "scholarships for financially constrained candidates"
