Welcome to the BrainStation Group!
Hi Everyone! We're so excited to start this group and to have you here! It would be great to have each of you share a bit about yourselves: interests, favorite sources of inspiration (podcasts, books, blogs, etc.), industry you work in, and what you're hoping to get from this group <3. Also, please share this group with friends, colleagues and other FGB members - the more the merrier!
Hi there! I totally agree that it is so important to pursue something that inspires you :). I'd actually recommend doing a bit of exploration and research to see what careers look like in the areas that you're interested in. One of my favorite ways to do this is through podcasts. We've actually put out a few blog posts of our favorite podcasts per discipline that you may want to check out:

Hi Melanie, BrainStation sounds like just thing I've been looking for. I've been teaching Pilates since 2001 and before that taught ballet and before that danced in a couple ballet companies in Europe. Back in 1999/2000, I was looking at enrolling in a web design program when somehow I became discouraged and settled for Pilates. While I get great satisfaction out of helping people feel and look better, I really enjoy making things and working, with my hands. I wonder if there is a way I can pursue a creative tech career? I hear and was told back in 1999 that web designers are a dime a dozen, but I also feel like it is important to go for something that inspires you. Film editing or some other creative technology that may be useful, is what I'm looking for. Do you have any ideas or advice for me? Thanks a million! :)
