Hi
I took interest in this group because I'm searching for a new career, and I'd love to explore social impact careers. I've been in the private sector at a corporation for 9 years. I'm ready to take on a challenging role that impacts a social cause.

I am an experienced software developer, most recently back end and automated testing, but I have done many things. I am seeking to get paid to accomplish something beyond making very rich people even richer. For example, I am interested in the intersection of technology and medicine, such as a hospital that wants to integrate their food service and in patient drug delivery to better handle drugs that should be taken with food, or somebody who wants to mine medical data to detect interactions between more than one drug at a time. I live in the suburbs northwest of Boston, and would really prefer a purely virtual position. I am seeking advice on how to best find this kind of position.
