obstacles
Here is where I see what's hard in starting a business... Not so much the next step, techniques, strategies, advice, planning and other business related skills, but when you FEEL that "this is not for me", "I don't like this part", "talking to strangers is awkward", "Nobody is opening my emails, am I not good?" and so on. It is about how you feel when building a business doesn't feel like a happy adventure any longer. And days like this will come, believe me!
To me that is the real obstacles because if you give in, the entire business will go with your decision. If you did not prepare in advance for days like that and you don't have support in place to help get over the hump it is risky.
Mindset is very underrated when it comes to success.
Here is an example I ran into this morning in a session with a client: She is doing her market research and she is extremely diligent and well organized, motivated and serious about her work. But when she needs to interview people for her market research, the alarm goes off: why don't they answer my email? How am I going to get paying clients if I cannot get clients for free? etc She was actually feeling so low before our weekly session that she was considering not showing up.
The thing is that we all pass through that phase and as uncomfortable as it is, it also represents a great chance for us to learn abut ourselves, to heal inner issues that might stop us from success, to learn how to reframe and how to win, all these in a safe no-lose environment (I am sure you would rather make a mistake when you are asking people for free interviews than when you are trying to sell a $3000 program).
If not handled properly these moments can end your pursuit of your dream forever. Make sure you get the right mindset on time and make it safely to the other side!
