Works with the product concept group assisting with projects in all phases of product development from initial concept to launch throughout the co-op program.
Team Summary:
The product concept group is responsible for the mechanical development of new customer specific product developments as well as supporting the evaluation of new technical advancements of the product portfolio. They are responsible for developing concepts/designs and developing into specific applications according to the product portfolio roadmap. Works closely with Sales, Product Management, OEM advanced engineering, and the cross functional engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Understand what it takes to have demonstrated ability to deliver creative solutions within the automotive applications
Experience working with a global team
Exposure to writing reports and completing projects from start to finish
Hands on experience with competitive unit tear-downs
Hands on experience with vehicle application calculations
Interpret and understand detail product drawings

Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
Understand the basics of engineering theory and principles of design.
Working knowledge in computer based software, organizational/communication skills, ability to work with others in a team environment.
Work Environment
Office Environment; limited travel required.
While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
