We are looking for a highly analytical and technically savvy Business Systems Analyst to help drive the evolution of Peregrine, our front-office investment platform, and Merlin, our next-generation AI ecosystem powering investment research, portfolio analysis, workflow automation, document generation, and intelligent decision support across the firm.
This is an opportunity to work directly with Credit Research, Portfolio Management, Quantitative Solutions, ESG, and Client teams on high-impact initiatives that are redefining investment processes at scale. This position is performed in a hybrid manner with a mix of work performed from our office in Newark, NJ and remotely.
What you can expect
Partner closely with investment professionals, product owners, designers, and engineering teams to deliver modern front-office investment solutions
Help shape and enhance AI-powered workflows across research, portfolio management, analytics, and client solutions
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user journeys, workflows, and functional specifications
Translate complex investment and operational processes into scalable technology solutions
Drive discovery sessions, process reviews, and solution workshops with stakeholders across the business
Support the evolution of Peregrine and Merlin capabilities, including AI-assisted research workflows, intelligent search, summarization, analytics, and workflow automation
Work with structured and unstructured investment data, including research, holdings, exposures, market data, and portfolio analytics
Collaborate with engineering teams in Agile delivery environments to prioritize work, refine requirements, and support sprint execution
Create process flows, data mappings, and gap analyses for current and future-state workflows
Help define user acceptance testing strategies and support successful product rollouts and adoption
Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and improved investment insights
Contribute to a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement
What you will bring
10+ years of business analysis experience at a buy-side Fixed Income firm, supporting front-office teams such as Credit Research, Portfolio Management, Risk, and Quantitative Strategies
Strong experience across major Fixed Income instruments, including Treasuries, Investment Grade, High Yield, EMD, Mortgages, Sovereign/Government and Corporate Bonds, OTC derivatives, and Repos
Working knowledge of data governance with a proven ability to maintain high data quality throughout the project lifecycle
Proficient in SQL, including writing queries and understanding stored procedures; experience with BI reporting tools and relational databases
Ability to evaluate existing processes and recommend practical improvements that drive better business outcomes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and solution development for system, process, or production issues
Ability to help end users adopt and maximize new systems and tools across teams
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure with strong organizational skills and attention to both detail and the big picture
Experience using application lifecycle management tools such as Jira and Confluence

Exposure to AI, generative AI, workflow automation, or modern data platforms
Experience working with investment research, portfolio analytics, or financial data ecosystems
Knowledge of cloud-native platforms, APIs, analytics tooling, or modern application architectures
CFA designation or progress toward certification
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The annual base salary range for this role is from $155,000 to $185,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
