What will you do?
1. Support Technology Roadmap & Strategy Development
Collaborate with innovation leader and business stakeholders to explore and evaluate power supply application opportunities aligned with emerging new energy trends , translating the opportunities into product & technology development roadmap
Contribute to power supply technology roadmap definition aligned with market trends
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies ( e.g : GaN , SiC , IGBT, Wide-Bandgap semiconductors) for integration into next-generation power supply products
Benchmark competitive products and define differentiated technical value propositions
Drive adoption of wide-bandgap devices ( GaN / SiC ) to achieve superior efficiency, power density, and thermal performance
2. External Partnership Development
Manage and technically direct ODM/OEM design partners, contract manufacturers, and third-party design houses
Define technical specifications, review partner designs, and ensure compliance with organizational standards
Conduct regular technical design reviews with internal and external engineering teams
Establish clear technical deliverables, milestones, and quality gates for all development programs
3. Technical Leadership & Product Development
Lead end-to-end design of industrial-grade AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies from concept through production, including integration of electronics hardware and embedded software
Define and execute power supply architecture selection (LLC Resonant , Phase-Shift Full Bridge, Flyback, Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Feedback, DCM, CCM etc.) based on application requirements
Drive PFC (Power Factor Correction) circuit design and integration for compliance with IEC 61000-3-2 and EN61000 standards
Lead transformer and magnetics design including core material selection , winding optimization, and thermal modeling
Conduct design verification and validation through simulation (SPICE, SIMPLIS) and hardware prototyping
Mentor and develop internal engineers in power electronics design principles
4. Standards, Compliance & Quality
Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety and EMC standards: UL/IEC 61010 -1 , IEC 61010-2-201 , UL/IEC 62368-1, IEC 60950-1, IEC 61558-1 , IEC 61558-2-16 , EN55032, E N61000 EMC series, SEMI F47
Lead pre-compliance and formal EMC/safety testing activities with accredited labs
Implement design-for-reliability (DFR) practices including FMEA, derating analysis, MTBF calculations
Establish and maintain design guidelines, best practices, and intellectual property documentation
5. Contribute to Team Competency Building in Power Supply
Develop and deliver internal training programs on power supply application, power supply design, topology selection , simulation tools and EMC counter-measure approaches
Create knowledge bases, design guidelines, and reference designs for organization-wide use
Support to build the department a center of excellence ( CoE ) for power supply engineering within the organization
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Master's degree or PhD in Power Electronics, Semiconductor Devices or Applied Physics is strongly preferred
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in power supply and power electronics design, development, or advanced R&D
Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas:
Proven end-to-end product development experience, taking power supply technologies from concept, architecture definition, and prototyping through qualification, certification, and commercial product release.
Experience working in or directly supporting industries such as renewable energy, energy storage systems (ESS), EV charging, industrial automation, UPS, data center power infrastructure, or grid-connected power electronics
