    • Name

      Katherine Langcaon

    • Position

      Technical Manager

      Seattle, WA

Katherine joined Pariveda Solutions as a college hire with a BS in Computer Science with a Specialization in Business from Seattle University. Originally born and raised in Hawaii, Katherine was driven to pursue her degree in a city that had a strong technology focus and she credits her high school computer science teacher for first helping her see how technology can be creatively applied to solve real-world problems. As a result of this passion for the creative design aspects of technology, Katherine looked for a company whose career path aligned with her interest in the business side of technology and where she could grow her skills both technically and in management when she was searching for career opportunities. “I was particularly interested in Pariveda’s clearly defined promotion path towards management, the opportunities to work directly with clients on projects that add business value, and the fixed transparent pay scale which ensured everyone was paid the same based on their role,” says Katherine.

Since joining Pariveda in 2014, Katherine was able to grow her career at a fast rate using the clear expectations framework to guide her from entry-level Consultant to Manager and gained experience working with clients in multiple industries, such as Wireless Telecommunications, Automobile Manufacturing, and Wood Products Wholesalers, to build technology solutions that serve their business and user needs.

In addition to these opportunities to work on both technical development and process management projects, Katherine especially values the mentorship that helps her grow her career through her work on internal initiatives for Pariveda. “Mentorship, both from my formal Pariveda mentor and from informal relationships with my managers and coworkers, has been invaluable in helping me grow both my career and also as an individual,” says Katherine. “I appreciate that Pariveda encourages this mindset and continues to look for ways to improve how they train new promotes to become better mentors.”

Katherine is also a passionate champion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, sharing learnings on these ideas from her experiences attending the Grace Hopper Celebration, driving efforts in her local office to improve the visibility of employee feedback to leadership, and facilitating group discussions to raise awareness and promote conversation about D&I.

  • Pariveda Solutions Margaret Rogers

Meet a Fairygodboss at Pariveda Solutions

    • Name

      Margaret Rogers

    • Position

      Vice President

      Washington D.C.

Margaret joined Pariveda 3 years ago and was pleasantly surprised at how well the company’s mission of developing people to their fullest potential matched reality. Having worked with a variety of firms, she experienced conflicting moments when utilization and bottom lines were prioritized, rather than people and relationships. Margaret had previously created small pockets of teams that didn’t support the overall company culture. She joined Pariveda because she wanted to support the growth of future leaders and grow her own leadership style in a more holistic way.

Margaret studied Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and started her consulting career in Java development and architecture. She loved working in a wide variety of industries. However, she started noticing miscommunications caused by how technologists spoke to non-technologists (business, designers, marketing, operations) and vice versa. She began to step into various roles to gain cross-functional and hands-on skills as a User Experience Designer, Business Analyst, Product Manager, and Program Manager, to gain varying perspectives. Using this knowledge, Margaret built methods to create empathy, connectivity, and collaboration among cross-functional stakeholders.

Margaret is tasked with growing and maturing the DC office. Pariveda’s model creates a diverse set of responsibilities that include creating hands-on solutions, office operations, and national firm level support. One of her favorite parts of the job is regularly meeting with her formal and informal mentees and her own mentors to learn. Pariveda’s environment encourages curiosity, learning, and servant leadership.

“You join Pariveda to learn from others, to coach the future leaders, and to give back so that this company will exist for generations. It’s exciting to know I’m contributing to a legacy,” says Margaret.

As a woman in technology, Margaret often finds herself being the only woman in the room, but she believes those moments are valuable and allow her to bring a diversity of perspective. In addition to affinity groups, recruiting programs, and benefits, Pariveda supports women executives by communicating very clear expectations and empowering them to do the right thing.

Margaret’s advice for women considering a technology path: “Technology will continue to permeate every part of our future. It will continue to diversify which can make it feel like an ocean. Fear will only leave you stranded so don’t paddle alone. As you train your mind to problem solve, you’ll make mistakes, but that only helps you paddle faster.”
