Just walk away
If you have a family don't do it. ..very long hours
They hire women so that they can say they do. Be willing to work 2x as hard as the men. Most management will treat you as if your brain dead.
You choose your hours and have the option to cancel rides if you feel uncomfortable or like someone is disrespecting you or your car. I've been driving for Uber for over a year (over 2K rides) and have never had to cancel a ride, except for when i've arrived to the destination and the passenger is nowhere to be found, nor are they answering their phone. It's the easiest money I've ever made. You meet a bunch of people, have great conversation, and get paid for driving your own vehicle on your own time.
I would say it depends on where you live if you should drive alone.
With Uber, you get back what you put in.
