How can I join the FGB Community?
The FGB Community is all about improving the workplace for women by celebrating, supporting and connecting them. Interested in joining? Here's how to get in on the action.
After creating your free account, showcase your accomplishments, grow your network and connect with recruiters by completing your profile. Don’t worry — any company reviews will always be anonymous and you always have the option of posting anonymously in the community.
How do I search for jobs?
On the jobs page, you can search for open positions by keywords, job title or company name. Your job search also uses your current location. You can update it by typing in a new city, state or zip code. You can get notified via email about jobs matching your search criteria by creating a job alert.
How do I invite people to connect?
You can search and connect with other women who are already on the platform by searching their profiles — via name or brief bio info within profiles — and clicking the connect button at the bottom of their profiles. You can also invite women to connect here on the Network tab. When your invitation is accepted, you’ll automatically be connected.
A great tip: Personalize your invitation to share why they should connect with you on Fairygodboss. We also have a recommended connections feature within our messaging page so you can get the most out of your networking experiences.
Note: Other Fairygodboss members will not be notified if you deny their request to connect.
How do I message someone?
You can send a direct message to anyone within your FGB network. This means you can ask private questions to the experts and insiders in our community. To send someone a message, make sure that you’re first connected to them (and send them an invite if you aren’t!).
How do I access advice-packed content, research related to women and their careers, and more?
Head over to our Resources page to find everything you’ve been looking for! View recent articles, explore FGB Groups, join upcoming virtual events, see top-rated employers for women, and access crowdsourced databases with parental leave and salary intel. How does the employee review and company benefits tip system work?
Reviews and benefit tips must be first approved by our community moderator, so please expect a 72-hour delay. Our system is based on user-generated tips and displays the data as either a consensus or average. The best way to change the tip average is to invite more colleagues to leave tips to outweigh the current average.
How can I find maternity leave information?
We have a parental leave database on FGB that highlights maternity and paternity leave — both paid and unpaid — information that's crowdsourced from our community. You can search the database by company name and industry. Our work-life balance page might be helpful for you, too!
How do I connect and engage with the FGB Community and what are your Community Guidelines?
Fairygodboss strives to make it easier for career-minded women to connect and engage with each other, and the FGB Community feed is a great resource to turn to when you want to ask questions, share advice and lend your expert voice. Why am I getting certain emails?
If you’ve created an account with FGB, please log in to your account and navigate to My Settings from your profile icon. We take your security and privacy seriously, which is why you must authenticate yourself before you access this portion of your profile and settings. If you have forgotten your password or need help accessing your account, you can always reset your password or email [email protected] for support.
How do I unsubscribe to emails?
To unsubscribe from our emails and alerts, sign in to Fairygodboss and click your profile icon. Head over to My Settings within the drop-down menu and click “unsubscribe” or “off” for all. How do I deactivate my account?
If you’d like to deactivate your account, please email [email protected] for support. Your request will be processed within 48-72 hours. Deactivating your account means you will no longer have access to any of the reviews, job alerts, webinars, virtual career fairs and most articles, nor will you be able to share/post messages to anyone else in our Community.
