If you were to look at Nekpen Osuan's resume, it would be difficult to think of something she doesn't do. An active professional, adjunct professor, volunteer, board member and founder, Osuan has a life full of passion projects. One of them, WomenWerk —the women's empowerment non-profit she co-founded — reaches 5,500 women and girls in the New York City area annually.
We spoke to Osuan about her career, her inspirations and what she does in her free time. She also shared her best piece of career advice — and it has to do with your relationship with your boss.

Tell us a little about your career. 
I am a Manager of Strategy & Analytics at Deloitte Consulting and an Adjunct at Columbia University. In addition, I'm the CEO and Co-founder of WomenWerk, a women’s empowerment non-profit reaching 5,500 women and girls annually in New York City. I'm a contributor for Women at Forbes.com and was recently named a BlogHer 2018 Voice of the Year, the 2017 Baylor University Young Alumna of the Year, a 2018 92Y Woman in Power Fellow, a 2018 Walkers Legacy Women in Leadership Honoree and a 2017 Council of Urban Professionals Fellow. I serve on the DNC’s Young Professionals Committee and Women's Leadership Forum, and I'm a volunteer on professional boards for Vote Run Lead, the Lower Eastside Girls Club, The Council of Urban Professionals, The New Leaders Council and the famed Apollo Theatre in New York City.

My mother, because she’s always very honest in her feedback.
What do you do when you're not working?
Traveling and running. 
If you could have dinner with one famous person — dead or alive — who would it be?
Warren Buffet and the entire executive team of Berkshire Hathaway.

Shoes are my shopping vice! If I won the lottery, I would put healthy food in every home around the world.
