I started a job about 4 months ago and there a have been a lot of red flags.

I had been the program director for two supportive housing buildings, with two different sets of staff, clients, vendors, etc. Other directors' salaries were higher than mine, and they only managed one site. I had been there for a year, and it was a struggle to convince the executive director to approve funds in my budget for cameras, light bulbs, and walkie-talkies, which were necessary to operate a building. The staff was ill-equipped to do their jobs, so I implemented training and other methods to monitor their work. I had an admin. assistant who happened to come from the same company I had been with previously, and the staff, at the command of one employee in particular, who was a known troublemaker throughout the company, to complain that I had been playing favorites with my admin. assistant because she claimed we were friends. In addition, the employee threatened me (she was terminated because of that); however, they moved my admin assistant to another building and told me that that was one way of stopping the staff of accusing me of playing favorites and if I needed to meet with her, I would have to travel to the other location. I was already traveling to two sites, and now I would have to travel to another. I asked HR and the executive director to reconsider this decision. They refused and instead began, very nastily, criticizing the duties I had my admin assistant perform. The complaints and the accusations began right after I had surgery and broke my ankle, for which I spent three weeks working from home and met with my team of clinical supervisors, operations director, and admin assistant to ensure all bases were covered. While I was away, there had been some altercations between the admin assistant and the staff, and this is when the staff decided to complain.BTW, I took these issues to the board of directors with receipts and both the executive director an human resources director were terminated.

I hope you’re doing well. I am seeking advice from this network as I continue my job search journey. Over the past year, I have been actively applying for Human Resources roles in the United States. Despite refining my resume across multiple versions, tailoring cover letters for each application, and leveraging AI tools for validation, I have not yet received an interview opportunity. While I would like to believe that my background as a non-American woman of color is not a factor, the experience has been challenging and prompts me to reflect. If any of you have encountered similar obstacles and successfully navigated through them, I would truly appreciate your insights. She did the same BS to me last month for the newsletter I requested her input for. I sent her 2 FREAKING MESSAGES, & she never did respond, then criticized my newsletter after i finished it. She always does BS like this. I need another job ASAP. She picks & chooses what she wants to respond to, WHEN she wants to work, & WHEN she wants to be bothered. I hate it here. She sent a Slack message to my Director not too long after I sent my email & let her know what she had just finished working on and logged off for the weekend. She does BS like this all the freaking time & im sick of it. My Director does nothing about her behavior, sides w/her, & refuses to hold her accountable for anything. I need another job asap!! The job market is 1 million percent despicable right now. I have applied to countless places for the several months now, used ChatGPT to help me tailor my resume to the job description of the position I applied for, followed up with recruiters on LinkedIn who work for the companies I applied to just to get ignored. I am 1million percent drained, beyond weary, burnt out, & tired of either being ignored by recruiters, told that employers are "still evaluating applications" & it has been over 4 months since I applied, or not hearing anything back from recruiters at all. No one understands how terrible it is to work for a narcissistic Supervisor who is in cahoots with management and how she is constantly unresponsive when you have a question about something, & is unreliable in general. There has got to be a way out because this is pure misery. Im willing to take a temp to perm job at this point smh.

For those recruiters who hate AI, I don't blame you! I got a first round interview for a position I really want. Unfortunately this was one of the first positions I applied to in my job search and I was using AI to help me get started (I've since learned about the hazards of AI for resume/cover letters). There was one issue with my resume I submitted for this position not showing two positions as contract/temporary (though this is reflected on my Linkedin profile). The second issue is that the cover letter I submitted referenced the wrong area for a project I had led (I work in accounting transformation and had a led a revenue project at a large company but only assisted in a huge lease project and the cover letter stated I had led the lease project). I would like to clarify this with the recruiter so I am not misrepresenting myself. Is this a good idea? If so, what is the best way to do this and should I do it before the interview? Thanks.
