I am transgender and only starting to come out but I am desperate for work and scared to death that trying to be myself will either prevent me from getting the job I so desperately need or cost me such a job if I do land it.

I want to work but I have tried suppressing the woman in my heart and it only led to depression which, yep you guessed it, cost me a job.

So frustrated so I apologize ahead of time...
I made it to the final round after five months of interviews for yet another position to be put on hold. This is the third job that I've spent months interviewing for only to have the role cancelled or put on hold for the feasible future. While I recognize that it's not the companies job no pun intended to hire me, I need a new role.
When I first started looking, it was a casual search to see if there was something better out there and was excited about the opportunities. Unfortunately my job ended recently and it's not if but when I can find a new one. I've tried contract, full, temp etc. and told that companies aren't hiring right now. If anyone knows of a marketing role where the company is actually hiring, please let me know! I was a senior leader in NYC but I'm open to other opportunities as I want to work...Thank you!

I left my last job and sued my former employer with other co-workers together for gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, and a toxic work environment.
My former employer could not deny in front of the evidence we put together. Instead of going to court, they chose to go through the mediation process. We settled the case eventually.
Part of the settlement agreements included a confidential agreement. We are prohibited from discussing the case with people (other than life partners, attorneys, accountants, etc.). Now, I am about to start job hunting. I sincerely seek advice from all of the talents here in the forum. When asked why I left my last job, what would be a good and professional answer without mentioning the true reason? Thank you all in advance.

Looking for performance review advice - I've been with my company for about 3 years now and I noticed the themes for my feedback are the same every year (I have strong review standing, btw).
The same feedback that shows up is around improving my presentation skills, both orally and verbally.
I've asked for examples on ways to improve and I never get clear examples. I also have received live feedback from audiences (and peers in the past) where I usually receive high ratings about my delivery.
So, I'd like to get advice on how to approach this convo with my manager this week. I want to be able to ask questions and get to the root of "why" this keeps coming up.
Thank you all for your advice / comments in advance!

Would you stop working on a contract or temp role if you weren't being paid?
How far "past due" do you let the agency, client, or company go as a contractor before you stop working for them? Curious!

I was just let go from my job after 15 years.
I had held on to this job, although my manager was toxic and hostile towards me for many years. Constantly threatenting to fire me and would retaliate or only give me half of my annual bonus. I found out i waa being let go when i received a direct deposit a week in advance and in the middle of the week. It wasnt until the next day the CFO and my new manager had scheduled a review meeting on a Thursday later in the day. I did get emotional as I was in disbelief. I didnt get a severance package and only got paid out my 300 hours of vacation time. It was only enough to cover me for a month. No benefits for my son and I. A few hours later the CFO calls me tetellingretelling me she felt bad about what i said and was willing to offer me a severance package. In that package it mentions i cannot sue them for wrongful termination or even disclose what i went through. Everything was verbal. Yes, i cried, was called a bitch the N word, discriminated against and she took advantage of me knowing i needed my job. In short, I had to let all the board members know what i had endured and how my health declined, stress, miscarriages and my family had also been effected by my employer. How do I go about asking for at least a years worth of my income and health benefits. Something reasonable would be helpful. Ive been looking for work even while i was employed and its been difficult. Any guidance will be helpful. Thank you very much
