I believe the biggest difficulty for women with families is that family field positions are rare and very disputed. So most positions as an expat require leaving your family home, with one week vacation every 3 months. As a single woman, even working in the Middle East for most of my career I have not felt left behind or discouraged; in fact there are several women in leadership positions.

Excellent benefits. Family-friendliness varies and is somewhat manager-dependent, as is equality of treatment for women compared to men. Currently, top level leadership is overwhelmingly male.

It's a family-friendly company to an extent. No women are at the top-level in HR, and the company culture still tends to frown upon taking off time for childcare. It is improving, though.
