It was 90 years ago when Henry Schein borrowed $500 to start a corner pharmacy in Queens, New York, nearly 30 miles from Melville, New York, where our corporate headquarters resides today. Many of our internal cultural initiatives are driven by our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which have transformed the way employees engage both personally and professionally. Specifically, our Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) has influenced some of our most impactful programs. Projects like Paradigm for Parity (P4P), a globalized initiative to reach gender parity at senior leadership levels (Directors and Vice Presidents) by 2030, serve as a great example. The group’s presence has also influenced workplace flexibility, causing us to update our policies on Paid Parental Leave programs and how we can better support new parents overall. WLN, in addition to our other ERGs, and the projects and initiatives derived from the groups help us live out our values.
